Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, is credited with saying, “…happiness never decreases by being shared.” This is often the case with the happiness experienced through sharing music – the happiness derived from music never decreases by being shared with others. And that is exactly what Montverde Academy’s Select Choir did when they journeyed off-campus and shared their music by singing in front of 75 Kings Ridge Community (Clermont, Florida) residents on Sunday, February 11th. This special musical presentation was created in honor of last weekend’s Valentine’s Day.
Under the skillful direction of Mr. Aubrey Connelly-Candelario, Montverde Academy Fine Arts Chair, the MVA Select Choir group brought joy and happiness to others as they performed several love-themed songs for the receptive residents. Featured soloists included Imani Doyle, Sarah Sarver, and Gabriel Seminitari. The Montverde Academy Select Choir members are selected by audition only. The choir participates in several annual performance festivals, music conferences, and choir competitions throughout the Central Florida region annually.
