MVA’s team competed another winning regular season this month and finished 25-1. The Eagles have been ranked very high in all reputable national high-school basketball polls throughout the 2015-2016 season. Last season the Eagles successfully defeated Oak Hill Academy, of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia (47-1), 70-61, to win the 2015 DICK’s Nationals Championship. After that victory, the 2014-2015 Montverde Academy Boys’ Varsity Basketball team became the first high-school basketball team to win three consecutive national titles since the decade of the 1940s. The team’s final season record was 31-1. MVA now seeks a 4-PEAT national championship. Also remarkable is that the MVA Boys’ Varsity Basketball program also improved their record to 132-8 over the last five seasons under Head-Coach Kevin Boyle.
