The Launch Box: Cardboard Challenge

The Innovation and Educational Technology Center is set to be housed in the former Rast Library where technology and STEM meet are combined with an art perspective. To kick off the Innovation and Educational Technology Center, the Advancement Office is hosting a Cardboard Challenge to test our community’s ability to think outside the box.

“We are so excited for the MVA Cardboard Challenge!” said Ms. Kalena Meyer, MVA Director of Events. “It’s a fun, family-friendly event that families can work on together this summer to use their creativity and items found around the house to build something innovative or imaginative!”

Winners will have the work displayed on the MVA campus in September. The deadline to submit your entry is Monday, August 2 and questions can be submitted to kalena.meyers@montverde.org.

Rules:

All videos – no longer than 30 seconds – must be sent to MVA Main FB Page (Deadline August 2). Any entry submitted to a sub-page (Fine Arts, Athletics, PA Association, Alumni Association) and NOT messaged to MVA’s Main page will not be considered.

  1. It must contain at least 80% cardboard.
  2.  You can use any additional materials you choose in your creation. Be creative!
  3. Video less than 30 seconds explaining your creation must be submitted by August 2 at 4:00 p.m.

Winners:

One winner from each age group will be awarded a prize based on a panel of five judges. The winning creations will be displayed on campus through September. Age groups include PreK-1st grade, 2nd – 4th grade, 5th-6th grade, 7th- 8th grade, and the Upper School.
