As we close the end of the first grading period, we are mindful of all of the hard work students have invested into their academic performance, and I look forward to evaluating our academic achievement statistics through the first grading period. Parent’s Day will soon be approaching, and we encourage parents to schedule visits with teachers to discuss academic performance directly with instructors.
The Upper-school classroom building punch list is nearly complete with the installation of our generator system that will keep our network systems operational during a power outage; otherwise, the building is complete and the students and faculty are enjoying this new asset to our academic community. Adjacent to the building, we have completed a new multi-purpose field for athletic use and will soon begin construction on the final field on 9th Street where construction staging took place. Lastly, we will be installing the additional security lighting at the athletic complex and center of campus in the coming weeks. This will greatly assist with adequate lighting during the winter months when it gets dark early.
In just a few short weeks, the Academy community will come together again for our annual Celebrating Education event at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel and Resort in Orlando. This is always a fun evening of fellowship and a critical fundraiser for our school community to provide needed funding for capital projects that cannot be funded by tuition dollars alone.
Our fall athletic season is coming to a close and our athletic teams competed very well and several are still in the midst of most season competition. This week, our winter soccer season begins and will be followed by the start of our basketball season and we will look forward to coming together again in fellowship for our MAIT and MAST tournaments in January.
