Mrs. and Mrs. Bjortvedt, Middle School parents of 7th grader Aiden Bjortvedt, had never considered a private school education for their son.  Both parents had grown up in small towns located in the American Midwest, so they wanted Aiden to experience, as they did, the educational encounters associated with of knowing everyone in his school community – and where a special focus would be placed on character development and academics. They wanted to find a school that stressed academic excellence and also created opportunities for Aiden to pursue his interests in music and theater.  Initially, Mrs. Bjortvedt felt the Academy had seemed very concentrated on athletic programming – and understandably so, especially after she learned of the numerous Montverde Academy sports teams that had experienced national success.  But over the last few years, the Bjortvedt family has appreciated seeing significant resources directed to the Academy’s music and fine arts programming.

In a recent email interview with Montverde Academy’s Alumni and Development Office, Mrs. Bjortvedt expressed how the Academy has positively impacted her son Aiden, stating, “The new fine arts building is extremely impressive, and MVA has been a great experience for Aiden. I am assured that he is being pushed academically while knowing there is as much a focus on his character as there is on the development of his math skills… MVA is a great opportunity for students to have a safe place to explore their interests and grow as individuals.  They will be expected to participate and engage.  The will be exposed to excellence in many forms whether it be on a field or court, on the stage or in the classroom.”

By generously contributing to Support the Mission, Montverde Academy can continue to foster conducive academic environments that improve student learning and where students can benefit from positive and life-changing experiences as they develop knowledge, character, and community. Your participation in Support the Mission will inspire others in the Montverde Academy community to give as well.  Annual Fund gifts can be paid monthly, quarterly, one lump sum, or timetable that works best for contributors.   After pledging a donation to Support the Mission, you have until May 15th to pay it.

All pledges received by December 31, 2015, will allow MVA to pay for expenditures during the second half of the school year.  To contribute to Montverde Academy during Support the Mission, please visit our online page HERE.  To join the 1912 Society, please visit HERE.
