Montverde Academy Headmaster Dr. Kasey C. Kesselring and the Academy’s Board of Trustees have approved construction to begin on a new Montverde Academy Sand Volleyball Complex later this month! Through the generous contributions of the Montverde Academy family, four state-of- the-art sand volleyball courts will soon be built on campus. A very special thanks go out to our sand volleyball campaign chairs Roger and Bryan Crews and MVA Girls Varsity Volleyball Head Coach Rachel Adams for their dedication and determination in raising the necessary funds to make the idea of the sand volleyball complex a reality.
There is still a lot of construction for the complex and development of the sand volleyball program – as well as additional funds needed to be raised in order to meet additional anticipated capital expenses. Once completed, Montverde Academy’s outdoor sand volleyball courts will provide the unique opportunity an opportunity for regional high-school volleyball players to receive NCAA scholarships for either indoor or outdoor university beach volleyball programs. No other coeducational independent private high school in the United States has initiated a funding campaign to support this ever-growing sport; the most watched sport of the Olympics. Added in 2012, 16 NCAA teams then competed. Now that list has grown to over 40 competitive collegiate women volleyball teams.
Montverde Academy Communications Office will keep you updated on the progress of construction and let you know when the Academy will be holding our Grand Opening Celebration! Until then, for questions regarding Montverde Academy’s new outdoor beach volleyball program, proposed Sand Volleyball Complex, naming opportunities, and ways to contribute through a tax-deductible donation, please contact Chris Mitchell, Director of Development and Government Relations, at chris.mitchell@montverde.org.
