As a reminder, TODAY (Tuesday, March 15th ) MVA’s Athletic Department will be hosting their Inaugural Spring Sports Jam. All spring sports, boys and girls tennis, boys lacrosse, softball and baseball will be competing on this day throughout the MVA Athletic Complex.

This month Eagle Powerlifters travelled to Lansing, Michigan, to compete in the ADFPF Single Lift National Championships. MVA wanted break some world records - as well as break and win some individual single lift national championships.
Sophomore Sydney Johnson-Scharpf recently finished her second training camp for this month as she attempts to find a position on USA National Gymnastic squads traveling to Italy for competition. Sydney accomplished her goal by making her first senior squad to the International Jesolo Cup in Italy on March 19-20!

Montverde Academy's Middle School won their annual MVA National Training Center Track Meet! The event was held on the Pure Athletics Private Elementary/Middle School Track of the National Training Center (NTC) - located off of Highway 50, in Clermont, Florida.

Montverde Academy’s Theater Department has been selected to participate in the American High School Theater Festival in Edinburgh Scotland! The Academy will be taking part in the in the AHSTF of August of 2017.
Montverde Academy’s National Honor Society has recently inducted its members for the forthcoming 2016-2017 school year. The Upper School’s NHS chapter accepts students applications for membership. All sophomore, junior, and senior students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher – and who have been in attendance at the Academy for at least one semester are eligible to apply.
Mrs. Ashley McCombes, MVA Middle/Upper School Technology teacher, shared with MVA’s Communications Office that her 6th graders collaborated to build a robotics club – as well as the first ever Montverde Academy Middle School VexIQ Robotics League.
The Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra has selected Mr. Hanrich Claassen - cellist, conductor, and Montverde Academy Upper School Instrumental Music teacher - as their new music director and conductor of the Symphonic Orchestra for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.
On Friday, February 19, 2016, Montverde Academy held its Beach Volleyball Complex Grand Opening. MVA faculty, staff, students and supporters joined together to celebrate to celebrate MVA’s newest sports facility.
Montverde Academy will present the musical "BARNUM" this week – starting tomorrow (Wednesday) and running February 24th, 25th, & 26th - 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, February 27th at 2:00 p.m. – inside the Sandra O. Stephens Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and seating is general admission.

Congratulations to Montverde Academy 8th grader Akash Tandon who has qualified to compete in the state level competition of the National Geographic Bee! The National Geographic Bee Team notified the Academy this week that The Florida State Bee will be held on Friday, April 1, 2016.
Earlier this month, Montverde Academy students competed in the Florida District 6 Vocal and Piano Solo and Ensemble Contest held at Hagerty High School. MVA had 16 student-musicians competing in multiple categories and earned a total of 9 scores of Superior (1st place) and 6 scores of Excellent (2nd place).
